In Key Stage 2, we try to foster an increasing amount of independence in the children.  They are expected to take more responsibility for organising themselves and parents can help by ensuring their child has the correct equipment/homework for that day.  They are also expected to write at greater length and develop their writing using more sophisticated sentence structures.  They will have a reading comprehension lesson every week to extend and deepen their understanding of a text.  You can help by asking them questions about their reading at home extending these to querying how they knew their answer.
