What is the Forest School Program
The Forest School Program is an innovative approach to education that provides children with regular opportunities to build confidence, independence, and self-esteem through hands-on learning in a natural environment.
Through engaging sessions in our woodland area, children develop a meaningful connection with nature while strengthening their personal, social, and practical skills.
Activities may include:
- Shelter building
- Learning about local wildlife
- Team challenges and problem-solving tasks
- Creative outdoor projects
Each class will take part in Forest School sessions for half a term, held every Thursday.
What Should Children Wear?
To ensure children are comfortable and able to fully participate, please provide:
- Sensible clothing or P.E. kit
- A waterproof jacket
- Wellies or old trainers (especially in wet weather)
- Clothes suitable for getting muddy
In warmer weather:
- Sun cream (in a named bottle, applied independently)
- A sun hat

Forest School sessions take place in our designated woodland area within the school grounds, providing a safe and stimulating natural environment for learning.
