At The Laurels Primary School, educational visits and residential trips play an important role in enriching the curriculum and supporting pupils’ personal development. Trips are carefully planned to enhance classroom learning, encourage independence, build confidence, and create positive, lasting memories.

All visits are linked to learning themes, fully risk assessed, and supported by appropriate staffing ratios to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children.

Supporting Our Educational Visits

For some visits, particularly in the younger year groups, we may ask members of our parent/ carer community to support trips where higher adult-to-child ratios are required.

Parent volunteers play a valuable role in helping children feel safe, supported, and confident when visiting new environments.

  • Parent helpers support staff under the direction of the class teacher
  • Safeguarding procedures are always followed
  • Expectations and responsibilities will be clearly explained in advance

We are very grateful for the continued support of our parent community, which helps The Laurels Primary School to offer a rich and varied programme of educational experiences.
